Kata Chuta Reflections

Why photograph something in the same way as everyone else? Be different, find a better angle, do something creative. In this image of Kata Chuta NT I held a graduated filter in front of the lens at an angle to get some interesting reflections! What is your creative idea?

"Sun Up" by Simon Wilson - PhotoComp Winner

PhotoComp Winner - "Sun Up" by Simon Wilson, photographed at Suma Park Dam. Congratulations Simon and thank you everyone who submitted a photo in our Mobile Photography PhotoComp. We had so many great entries! We hope you feel inspired to keep shooting, even if it's just with your Mobile Camera! It is amazing the images these basic cameras can capture and the apps/filters that are available to bring your shot to life.

See more information into how our winner was judged on our Competition Page.

Simon can almost always remember having a camera of sorts with him throughout his life but it wasn't until 2004 while he was scuba diving a lot that he bought a Olympus C7070 W...Z (fixed 5.7 - 22.9mm lens digital) with underwater housing, that he took it up a notch. He then got a Canon DSLR and suddenly got more and more hooked on photography.

He has been more seriously shooting for the last 7 years and his current kit includes the Canon 400D + Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens plus the usual bits and bobs. His passion is landscape, architectural photography and in particular seascapes.

You can see more of his work here: http://web.me.com/simon_wilson/site2/home.html

Fisherman's Corner

Adam Crews Panoramic Imagery has provided us with another beautiful image titled "Fishermans Corner". He describes how he captured this scene below.

"This particular afternoon at Garie Beach was very unique. The sea salt mist in the air was as thick as a cloud and looked promising as I walked up the beach. As the sun sank and the pastel colour's emerged, I caught this image of the fisherman as he caught his dinner. I love the feel of this photo, you can almost smell the elements - just by gazing into it."

Shoot from the Sideline

This bridal shot is dedicated to everyone attending weddings over the weekend. Shooting from the sideline can allow you to capture beautiful, candid images. A simple tip for shooting a bride in her white dress is to over expose slightly, immersing her in a natural, angelic glow.

Macedonian photographer Elena Fıdanşka has produced this amazing photograph as a part of her online "Stories" collection. The scene is as if taken from a fairytale. Golden City

A golden city that had received the Midas touch on sunset yesterday created a remarkable scene against a dramatic, rain wielding sky. This was photographed on the eve of Black Tie For Breast Cancer's annual charity gala, which Take Beautiful Photos and Moonen Creative are honoured to be one of the major sponsors, contributing to such an important cause.
